Studioteka is a small dynamic firm with a variety of commercial and residential projects located in a beautiful loft space in the heart of DUMBO. We vary in number from 6 to more with the addition of a couple of freelancers who occasionally help us out. In contrast to a stuffy corporate office, you’ll find our studio relaxed, friendly and informal, and fun to work in!

What we're looking for: dedicated and motivated individuals looking for a hands-on work experience with as much responsibility as you can handle. Maturity and a high level of motivation are important. We are looking for interns as well as people with 3-5 years of office work experience or more to join us full or part time. For the internship, previous practical experience in building or making things (whether experience in architecture, interiors, furniture or product design) is a plus, as are skills in 3D visualization. The intern would participate in research and preliminary design for the summer project, as well as participating in ongoing projects in the office. Priority is given to people already located in the NYC metro area.

We are also looking for people with a fair degree of practical experience on a job site, great design and interpersonal skills, as well as a high degree of comfort in putting together drawing sets and client presentations at a wide variety of scales including assisting with coordinating interior design elements and custom millwork and preparing shop drawings for our clients. A strong interest in applying and furthering Studioteka's practical research on innovative design for climate change is key. All candidates should have excellent communication skills and be well organized and self-motivated team players. An adventurous spirit and a love of design are a must, as is the ability to work effectively in an informal design studio atmosphere. Minimum requirement for Junior Architect position would be a 5 year B.Arch or a B.A. with a major in Architecture. M.Arch degree is a plus. Compensation will depend upon the skill and experience level of applicants and the mix of projects in the office.

**UPDATE** We are working on an exciting project to turn our book, 2100: A Dystopian Utopia into an immersive experience in virtual reality and welcome applicants who are interested in our work on solutions to the climate crisis as well as in gaining practical experience as an architect working on a variety of projects in NYC. We prefer candidates for the Junior Architect position who are already located in the New York City metro area and able to start work within the next couple of weeks. 

Start date: Now. Prefer one to three month term, minimum, for intern (can also be a few afternoons/mornings/week). Candidates should have a working knowledge of Autocad, Adobe Illustrator, Photoshop and In-Design. Preference will be given to candidates who also have proficiency in 3D Studio Max, Rhino with Vray , Enscape, Lumion Twinmotion, Unreal Engine or other 3D programs and animation software. An interest and a passion for innovative sustainable design that intelligently blends research and practicality is key.
